[ Flash ] Back in the EUSSR
You don't know how lucky you are, boy! Censorship hysteria in Europe has escalated to a new peak
On May 20, 2025, the European Union imposed a ban on two German journalists, who are EU citizens, and a Turkish journalist legally residing in Germany, prohibiting their access to EU territory. For further details, refer to the article by Thomas Fazi published on Public.
Reuters, the British news agency, has claimed credit for identifying these three journalists and contributing to the sanctions inflicted. Reuters Is The New Gestapo.
In addition to raising significant human rights concerns, the EU’s decision appears to conflict with the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and European treaties, as it was implemented without a judicial ruling. Travel bans typically of EU Citizens require a decision from a criminal court judge. However, the EU lacks authority in criminal justice matters and thus cannot impose such a ban. Only a judge in an EU member state has the power to do so.
The EU's censorship appears to be intensifying. There is growing concern across various levels, suggesting that in Brussels and other European capitals, there is recognition that the framework established by the Lisbon Treaty has contributed to economic downturn in member states and broader systemic issues.
The EU allocates significant funding, sourced from European taxpayers, to support a broad propaganda network that includes news agencies, advertising firms, mainstream and purportedly independent media, NGOs, and government entities such as Viginum, France’s version of Obama’s Global Engagement Center.
Approximately 650 million euros have been disbursed at the European level, in addition to contributions from individual member states. This includes a 123.8 million framework contract awarded to Havas (Bolloré group) ahead of the 2024 European elections.
Speaking of NGOs, we have in France this factchecking outfit generously funded by USAID, the European Commission, private donors and states: Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
On April 2, 2025, we identified a new free subscriber to L’Eclaieur, Arnaud Froger, an employee of RSF. This caught our attention, given our prior awareness of the organization’s approaches.
Subsequently, on May 19, 2025, a report was released by RSF regarding Oleg Nesterenko, president of the European Trade and Industry Center, who has been featured multiple times in our 'Free Reflections' section since the onset of the Ukraine conflict. We consider it valuable to explore diverse perspectives, including the Russian viewpoint, to better understand what’s at stake and support efforts toward a potential conflict resolution.
RSF thus published a 'hit piece’, as we say in proper French, a derogatory, even defamatory article aimed at discrediting Oleg Nesterenko. Read Mr. Nesterenko's response here.

For RSF and the industrial censorship complex, a Russian expressing the Russian viewpoint and voicing Russian interests is automatically considered disinformation simply because it’s Russian. However, these are pieces of information—not disinformation—all the more valuable because they are systematically censored.
Consider the interview Oleg Nesterenko gave us about Niger. He presents facts that may be challenging for Western audiences to hear. Does that, however, mean that dismissing his views cancels their potential validity?
"Les Etats-Unis ont subi un échec stratégique au Niger"
Le Niger, superbe pays du Sahel, reste malheureusement l’un des plus pauvres de la planète. Il présente cependant la particularité d’être le barycentre d’une grande partie de l’Afrique. Ce qui en fait un pays hautement stratégique.L'Eclaireur est une lettre confidentielle par abonnement. Pou soutenir notre travai…
Many leaders, media outlets, and journalists operate in a mindset where connections between events or facts are assumed without solid evidence or logic. Yet, these groups claim owenship of the truth, often promoting their views through institutional channels supported by taxpayer funds.
Additionally -note to RSF - some argue that the events in Bucha were staged by Ukrainian authorities, pointing to a video recorded by the Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior as evidence.

Lastly, we should ironically note the commendable efforts of the French press in conducting thorough and critical investigations...
